to Reading!

A wonderful and exciting opportunity! Join Mo Willems and Yo-Yo Ma for an evening of drawing and music! Yo-Yo will provide the music while Mo leads your little ones through some doodling exercises while these two artists explore a kid-friendly creative process courtesy of the Kennedy Center. The Yo-Yo Mo Show will debut on Sunday, May 31 at 5 pm, then will be archived on the Mo Willems page at the Kennedy Center website, along with LUNCH DOODLES with Mo Willems and Thank you Thursdays! Click on the link above for more information.

As we all navigate through the uncertainty of these times, please know that I am available to answer questions, provide support, and help  in anyway I can.

Please refer to the PW Home Learning Page for resources!

At this time, please focus on reading and enjoying stories with your children! You can listen to stories, read stories together, have your child(ren) read stories. Then talk about the stories- discuss them together, ask questions, make predictions. If you need access to books- look below! If you want questions or discussion topics- please email me :)

If your child works in a small group with either myself, or Mrs.Terry, they have access to an online program called Reading Eggs. If you do not have login information, please email me and I will send it to you.

If your child needs access to their RAZ-kids account, please contact their teacher for that info.

Pioneer Valley Books is an excellent resource! They are currently allowing FREE Bookbuilder subscriptions. These are leveled books that you can print at home (and even put your child's name in them!). Just click on the link above.

Children LOVE to hear read-alouds- at any age!
(and they support fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary)
Here are some places to find read-alouds online:

Audible just made some kids' books free.
On the site, Audible says: “For as long as schools are closed, we’re open. Starting today, kids everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across six different languages, that will help them continue dreaming, learning, and just being kids.” Just click on the link above.

All students have access to Benchmark Universe and MyOn through their county Clever account. They just need to click on the Benchmark or MyOn icon in Clever, and they have access to thousands of leveled books online!

If you do not have access to a computer, and need an app to access leveled books, please contact me!

Don't forget about the Public Library right next to the school! You can get a virtual library card and do curbside pick-up for books! See link above. This is subject to change due to state restrictions. Check their website for updates.
