What is the role of a School Social Worker?

School Social Workers serve as the vital link between home, school and community for all students by providing a variety of services.

We support the school staff as a memeber of the mental health team providing support and resources for positive student/peer relationships and social emotional well being.

We support parents by providing linkage to community resouces and basic needs.

We are an integral  and active part of the school community. 

About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker, as well as a certified school social worker. I received my undergraduate degree from Christopher Newport University and my master's from Virginia Commonwealth University. I have over 15 years of experience and am passionate about supporting students, families, and our community. I enjoy spending time with my family, going to concerts, and relaxing on the lake or at the beach.
